Radiation is not the same tool it used to be. New kinds of radiation are are used in specific cases. Same is true of Chemotherapy and of the associated medications given with either or both of these. Many of the hospitals have a medical team that meets and looks at what you might need in complementary treatments. These teams are often composed of a nutritionist, a radiation oncologist, a medical oncologist and a surgeon. They meet, discuss your case and decide what treatments might work best for you. They could use treatments that increase the chances for another to work. Some treatments are given at the same time and some follow one after the other.
