Need a club - start a club
While the WebWhispers website, contacts on the List, and the WW Forum will answer many needs for us, we feel it is important to have a local support group in addition to what we offer. Face to face discussions and demonstrations often answer questions in an easier to understand manner.
If you do not have a club in your area and you need help setting up one, download and print a copy of Jane S. Del Vecchio's booklet, Building a Successful Laryngectomee Club - a 29 page Adobe.pdf file.
FINDING LOCAL GROUPS
If you cannot find a local meeting exclusively for "larynx cancer" or "head and neck" patients, try one for cancer patients of all types. Many of the treatments such as radiation or chemo have after effects that are shared by people with other kinds of cancers and the emotional support can be immeasurable.
Please check with your local ACS (American Cancer Society), doctor's office, clinic, hospital, cancer center or the VA hospital to see if they know of some support group meetings in your area. Check your Yellow Pages for Support Groups or Cancer Support. One might be listed under Lost Chord, New Voice, Nu-Voice, or Head & Neck Support.

If YOUR club is not listed, we ask that you contact us with your information so we may add your club to the list. Please send whatever information you have, a contact for the group, email address and web site if you have them. If you find other clubs, please let us know about them so we can add them to the list.
